I love it white sand clear water no fire ban and huge lake like no other and it's only 3 hours for downtown denver

Amazing! Went off season late fall on a Sunday super quiet. Developed and dispersed camping. Tons of beach, lots of shade

Truly a remarkable place. Beach camping available in the midwest. I want to plan a trip here every year. I wasn't sure what to expect on my first visit and I was blown away by the beauty. It can get pretty windy. I hope to try my luck fishing next visit. If you're on the fence just do it you won't regret it. Don't drive out on the sand without a 4x4 witnessed a little car getting stuck.

Beautiful lake, I love sandy beach the most! So long as the water isn't too high, there is a beautiful white sandy beach for miles hence the name. If you're going to spend three or more days at the beach it's cheaper to just buy a season pass. Driving in the sand on this beach is for FWD and experienced sand drivers; if you're not - do not stop in the deep stuff you'll get stuck. I've been coming up here since I was ten and it's well worth the trip every time. Invest in a nice cooler, beach umbrella, and bug spray. It gets hot and the flys are sometimes out biting. Mosquitoes too.

Almost hesitant to rate/share this lake, it's so good. Definitely a great beach spot for Coloradans, though the Nebraska natives seem to take kindly enough to the outsiders. Really great place to party or just relax. Plenty of beach, if you have 4-wheel drive.
